Spring is upon us. The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming and Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Yep you read that right, Mother’s Day is literally right around the corner. If you all of a sudden got that empty feeling of panic in your stomach and thought “Oh no, I have no idea what I’m going to get her!”, don’t run out the door without first reading the rest of this blog because we’ve got the ideas that will make those clichéd flowers look...well, cliché. (You’ll thank us later.)

This year give her something that will last the whole year and make her see how much you appreciate and love her. “What in the world could that be?!,” you may ask. Well thankfully Lauren, being a mother herself, will tell you exactly what that is.

Declutter The Mess

What’s something mom’s love more than anything else? If you said daytime television and a glass of wine, you’re probably right. But that’s not where we’re going with this. How about a CLEAN HOUSE?! Can you imagine the look on her face when she sees the granite on her countertops for the first time in who knows how long? Be the handyman that you think you are and add a few shelves around the house to get some things up and off the floor. How about mounting that television for a clean and modern look? Either way, making your house a family friendly living space will score major brownie points with the head of the household.

SHOP FULL MOTION MOUNTSGet The Kids Involved

What says “dad of the year” more than spending time with the little ones making arts and crafts that say how much they love their mom? The answer is nothing. Spend an afternoon with the kiddos making artwork, then hang them up on the wall to give the house a cozy feel. The look on her face when she sees that artwork hung up will be priceless,  and they are something she can hold onto forever.

Do Some Home Decorating

Another great way to incorporate a homey and personalized feeling in the house is doing a little home decorating with fabrics and other patterns that incorporate mom’s personality. This creates a family friendly living space that can be used throughout the year. Whether she likes trendy bold patterns, or warm reserved styles, make her feel like the house is customized to the way your family lives.

Well, that seems simple enough doesn’t it? These simple tips will have a more meaningful impact on her life because they are comforting and making her home a family friendly living space that she can enjoy with her family more than that box of chocolate every other Joe-shmo is getting this year. So, do these ideas and you’ll make her the happiest mom on the block. But now that I think about it — you should also probably get her the chocolate too. Women love chocolate.
